Firstly, to the couples who I have photographed in the past.

        You are legends.

Seriously, I have photographed and assisted over 50 couples big day’s – but I really had no idea.

Nothing can really prepare you as each Wedding is different but I will be blogging a little about my experience in posts over the coming months.

So many people asked me “How did you choose a photographer, as a Wedding Photographer?”.

For me, I put the word out that I was on the hunt for someone confident and whose shooting style was similar to mine – which was less posed and more focused on real moments between people versus cheesy pinterest looking shots.

You can hang the dress up, keep a piece of cake in the fridge but really.. the photos are the one thing you can always look at, share and they are part of your families legacy.

So this was a no brainer. We didn’t even meet until a week before the Wedding, I had followed Kate’s work for a long time and knew she was going to be a good match!

I also knew I wanted a smoke bomb photo, to have a first look and photos of our family and friends were a priority.

When you pay a professional, you get that peace of mind. That is why we charge what we charge.

I knew a good photographer was going to be one of our biggest expenses, but photographs are all you have left after your big day.

I was never going to be the photographer who hired someone for $1000 to take photos on a hobby camera… and I am not being a snob about it, I think it is too important to leave that burden on a friend or family member.

My main goal was to be a bride who enjoyed her day, enjoyed her time with the people who came and knew that I didn’t have to worry about managing the photographer.

Til the next post about how I chose Wedding Vendors and who I used!
